Snow Days
UFNS goes by Newton Public Schools with one exception
If there is no school, we have no school
If there is a one hour delay, we start school at 9:45
If there is a two hour delay, we have NO SCHOOL
Reminders for the Winter Season
Children may not wear boots into the classroom. Please bring a change of footwear of either slippers or shoes.
Please unpack snow pants and boots from backpacks so the children can reach them easily. Also, put mittens in pockets and hats in hoods to expedite the process of getting 20 children outside.
Label, label, label!
Illness
Your child must be fever-free without medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
Going Home With Another Child
Please remember that we need a daily note. These notes clarify at dismissal who is going home with whom.
Reminders for Fall and Spring Seasons
Children should have sunscreen put on each day before they come to school. Even on cloudy days the sun can be harmful.
Please do not wear sandals. They are difficult to climb and run in and the wood chips are always getting stuck in them.
